"The Black" is a beautifully built young Herdsire combining two well-known Snowmass lines. His sire, Snowmass Nova, won the 2005 AAF Herdsire of the year award, and has produced many, many offspring that have won ribbons and banners for their outstanding fiber and conformation. Snowmass Nova was a member of the North American Alpaca Stud and is now one of the major players in the Herdsire row at Brookhollow Farm.

"The Black's" dam, Snowmass Esperanza, brings to her son the genetics of her sire, Jericho 69I.
