We are a small kennel located in the
beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia on
the Appalachian Trail. We have bred and
raised Jack Russell Terriers for over 11
years. We have found this terrier to be one
of the most intelligent and versatile breeds
we have ever had the pleasure of raising.

Catawba Mountain’s philosophy is simply
this: We strive to breed the most correct
terrier possible-with conformation,
performance, temperament and hunting ability
in mind.
We give very careful consideration to every
breeding, with painstaking research to
attempt to breed a terrier free of genetic
or physical defects. Co-efficiencies and
comparisons of pedigrees are determined
prior to breeding. We only breed from stock
that has passed their BAER (hearing) test
along with being CERF (eye) tested clear.
All puppies sold are also BAER tested before
leaving our home.
